What we collect
When you submit a wildlife sighting, we store the animal type, an optional landmark and description, the exact coordinates you choose on the map, and a timestamp. If you use the Contact Us form, we store your name, email, and message.
Location privacy
To protect both you and the wildlife, sightings shown publicly on the map are delayed by approximately one hour and the location is fuzzed to a roughly 500 m radius, never your exact location. The exact coordinates you submit are stored privately so the data is useful for community safety analysis.
Personal information
We do not require accounts to report a sighting. Please do not include your home address, phone number, or other personal details in sighting descriptions.
How we use the data
- Show recent community wildlife activity on the map.
- Help neighbours stay aware of nearby wildlife.
- Respond to messages you send via Contact Us.
Sharing
We don't sell your data. We may share aggregated, de-identified information with local wildlife or public safety organisations.
Wildlife welfare
Please don't approach or feed wildlife. Give animals their space. For aggressive or injured animals, contact your local animal control.
